WHO WE SERVE
The District 21 Medical Examiner's Office serves the public and the judicial needs of Lee, Hendry and Glades Counties by performing quality, efficient, and timely death investigations with dignity and respect for the decedents, and to determine the cause and manner of death as mandated by Florida Statute 406 within our jurisdiction.
MISSION STATEMENT
It is the mission of the District 21 Medical Examiner's Office to serve the public, in compliance with Florida Statute 406, in a professional, confidential and compassionate manner in the medico-legal investigation of deaths in Lee, Hendry and Glades Counties, thereby enhancing our understanding of death and dying.
Our objectives are to work diligently to determine the cause and manner of death of our constituents, and to convey those findings in a timely fashion to families and for local and national medical, health, legal, academic and law enforcement communities, irrespective of personal beliefs or emotional attachment to the circumstances of any particular case.
WHAT WE DO
The purpose of the Medical Examiner's Office is to bring expert and independent medical evaluation to the investigation of deaths that are of concern to public health, safety, and welfare of the community.
